‘Find a Practice’ online tool for Urgent Eye Care services launches
Primary Eyecare Services are pleased to announce the launch of the ‘Find a Practice’ function on our new website.
This new functionality will allow patients to identify participating optical practices that are delivering Urgent Eye Care via our Minor Eye Conditions (or PEARS) services during the COVID-19 outbreak. The tool allows patients to search by postcode to generate a map and list of practices within a chosen distance.
If you are a participating MECS/PEARS practice, please use the tool to check you are listed and that all your details are correct. If any changes are needed or you have a query please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
A COVID-19 practice communications checklist can now be found on the COVID-19 guidance page. All participating practices are advised to review the checklist and ensure the recommended measures have been taken.
Now that there is more clarity from NHSE for the optical sector, we are keen to promote the availability of practices providing Urgent Eye Care services as widely as possible. Our Twitter campaign will use #urgenteyes and we would welcome any support you can lend to this.
Also, we are asking our local Clinical Governance and Performance Leads (CGPLs) and Local Optical Committees (LOCs) to share the Find a Practice tool with relevant local stakeholders including GPs, Pharmacies and Hospital Eye Services, and again we would welcome your support in this initiative.
We would like to thank all participating optical practices for your ongoing diligence and commitment to patients as well as your own teams.
If you have any queries regarding guidance or the locally commissioned service please contact your local CGPL or email us on email@example.com
