Fri 30 June 17 | Access to Eye Tests for Seldom Heard Groups
One of NHS England’s and Wessex LEHN (Local Eye Health Network) priorities in respect of eye health for 2017/2018 is to ensure better access to eye tests for Seldom Heard Groups. ‘Seldom Heard’ is a term used to describe groups who may experience barriers to accessing services or are under-represented in healthcare decision making and include:

  • Patients with Dementia
  • People with Learning Disabilities
  • The Deaf and Hard of Hearing
  • People whose first language is not English
  • Homeless People
  • Gypsy, Travellers and Roma Communities
In order to understand their needs and priorities, we would like to know if you provide services for these specific groups of patients, how you provide the services and any challenges you have. We have produced a survey online that should only take 5-10 minutes to complete.   This important survey will help us to identify gaps in services, and  assist us with ensuring patients access the services they need and inform us on how we can help you provide services to these patients.  The survey will open on Monday 26 June 2017 and Closes 23 Jul 2017. To complete the survey please click on the link provided below. https://www.engage.england.nhs.uk/survey/7c7957f5 Thank you for your assistance.   Helen Wardle Primary Care Commissioning Support  South Region (Wessex) NHS England
